PUBLISHING PROJECTS

My favorite aspect of the MPS in Publishing is its hands-on approach to publishing studies. In each course, we as students are encouraged to develop projects related to topics and skills we're learning. Check out some of my projects below!

PANDEMIC REPORTING AND STUDENT JOURNALISM ETHICS

Ethics in Publishing

Our capstone project in the Ethics in Publishing course was to explore an ethical issue as it relates to the publishing industry. I explored student journalism ethics in this paper, specifically focusing on the ethical implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SAMPLE PRESS KIT AND PRESS RELEASE

Marketing Strategies

For this project, we were tasked with creating a press kit for a hypothetical title. We included event ideas and media targets, as well as a sample press release. This was a great exercise in understanding everything that goes into book marketing.

AEGIS PUBLISHING PRESENTATION

Book & Journal Publishing

This project is the culmination of my assignments in Book & Journal Publishing. We spent the semester learning about different aspects of the publishing industry and applying those to the development of our own press concept.
