MEET CASSIE

IMG_7088_edited.jpg

Cassie LaJeunesse is originally from Tallahassee, Florida, but moved to the mountains of northwest Georgia to pursue an undergraduate degree in English at Berry College. At Berry, she worked at the campus newspaper for four years, serving two as editor-in-chief. While obtaining her degree in English and writing an honors thesis on Toni Morrison's little-known opera, she still found time to further her love of music by singing in Berry's choirs.

After graduating, Cassie worked as a writer and managing editor for V3 Magazine, a local publication serving Northwest Georgia. She also worked as a freelance writer and editor before moving even further north to pursue a Master of Professional Studies degree in Publishing at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, and works full-time in communications while completing her publishing coursework.

Since childhood, Cassie has loved reading, writing, and anything to do with words or grammar. This love took her from Anne of Green Gables and The Mysterious Benedict Society to a degree in English and jobs in editing and writing. In her free time, she runs Cassie's Bookshelf, a book blog and Instagram account featuring reviews, recommendations, and other reading content. She now hopes to pursue jobs in publishing in order to grow her love of language and support her habit of buying every book she can find, even though she'll never have time to read them all.
